Wind Chasers

Stop chasing it. Plain and simple. I thought of this while remembering "Waterfalls" by TLC. The concept of wind is that it slips through your fingers just as soon as you grasp it. Similar to water. All wind requires is a small crack and it's presence begins to diminish. It also appears to be constantly moving in all directions as if doesn't have a definite destination. Why chase something that's leading you everywhere but where you should be going? Also consider if you were able to capture air in a bottle or bag. Such containers have to remain sealed. You can't interact with them without extreme constraint. Where's the fun in that? Aspirations can be described as such, especially the empty ones.  Advancing at work, seeking a higher, educational degree, building a family and seeking a fun career are not far fetch. When thinking of air and water, try to consider what it can do for you in the sense of longevity.  You may not be able to keep both elements, but they are essential to your body. You can recycle the air , reaching your lungs' capacity to increase blood flow and you need water as well to help maintain  other bodily functions. Simply capturing it for the sake of containment does nothing for you or anybody else that needs it. You end up hoarding lost potential. Now that's a waste of life.

Think of the many things you're chasing today. It can be a possible relationship with someone of the opposite sex or a friend that isn't making effort to return the investment. You may be aiming for a job that won't exercise your God-given gifts, only catering to our growing greed for money and societal acceptance. You may have a dream that you created in your teens that you've been slaving to manifest, but fell short after thousands of attempts. This may be the result of giving in to something not meant for you to have. The challenge is not attempting to fulfill that want, but accepting the possibility that it's something outside of your personal design. Can you do that, my friend? I've made plans in the last two years that I'm starting to wonder whether or not they align with God's criteria. Like most of us, it frightens me because that creates a blank space on my future canvas. What will I paint? What colors will He give me? Will He even give me a prompt? I have no idea. I do know for certain that I'm tired of chasing quick winds seeking no grasp from my hands. They are wild and untamed for a reason. If we're solely in it for the chase, we will lose every time. Chase to acquire, use, and pass on to your neighbor. Ride it if it's heading in the direction of your purpose. If it doesn't add to your life, than allow it to subtract on it's own.
