The Soul of the Sole

It’s okay to seek comfort if it promises longevity. This probably goes against everything God encourages us to exercise, but there are moments where being where you should is the best fit. When you’re young , you don’t mind wearing Jordans with no cushion. Coolness over comfort, right? Lebron and Westbrook make it look easy. Wait until you see how much they wrap their ankles and feet pre-game time. All is fine until the ankle bends the wrong way. If not for precaution, their bodies would be broken in the first quarter. 

When’s the last time you put on comfortable shoes ? Did you walk up and down the shoe isle , more impressed with how it feels than look? I bet you imagine soft impact upon the rough surfaces you walk daily. The terrains of your everyday life have no match for your much needed kicks . Forget wishing to dunk or sprint faster than Flash, you just want to commute at the work place between meetings with ease and little to no pain . You have a relaxed look, but Chucks won’t always suffice. You need something that caters to your gravity. You need something to hold you up when the weight of life has you down and nothing helps more than some soft sneakers. 

No Stacy Adams, no Calvin Kleins or Kenneth Coles. Nothing 007 would run in with a pistol near his ankle , but something you’ll glide across the lobby of a hotel in before meeting with friends for lunch and mild drinks. Imagine wearing something that hovers over carpet and kisses hardwood floors. Doesn’t that feel good? Not bad good, but good? The good that does good in all it does. Aim for that. Shoot for warmth of the heart and calmness of the soul because when discomfort comes, you’ll need something to get you through, like the comforting feeling of ultimate security. 

Love yourself like no human can. That includes building your skills to be appreciated, required , and quite essential to people’s needs. Maybe you are the soft-sole shoe people have been looking for since they needed a solution to their problem. Loosen your laces , clean your esthetics, and embrace their heels. They maybe heavy , but God’s burden is light. Exchange yours for His because if He has you, then you have them. It is the perfect support, the best investment .
