Money

Most of us assume that since we don't have much money that there's no point in saving any, right? Wrong. The thing about "cutting corners" is that taking short cutts become more of an obligation rather than a privilege.  When you're young, you have the mentallity that you should live as if there's no tomorrow, but what if tomorrow turned into next year, or next decade, or even the next five decades and you have nothing to show for it, but materlistic crap that you lost interest in within hours of purchasing it. Most of the things we buy, yes, we think that it's what what we want, but it doesn't give us the expected gratification that we were seeking. It's nice to have things such as nice televisions, cars, gadgets and what not, but what about your necessities like your rent, car insurance, grocceries, gas money, etc. ? As a college student, I've learned that getting THROUGH school, making sure you have a place to stay and that you're eating are the primary concerns for the remaining of your school term, whether it's 4 years or 6, or even 8, depending on how many degrees you plan on obtaining. I know it may appear that you never seem to have money to have a good time or enjoy yourself, but think of it this way: if you concentrate on your LONG TERM goals, what you do NOW will eventually effect your near and distant future.  If there's something that you indeed want, save money and make present sacrifices. The sacrifices that you make are very vital because if you don't lose something, then there's nothing more to gain. If you're the type that's concerned about money and can't seem to live without it, then get multiple jobs or try to get multiple hours so that you can live such a lifestyle. A down fall is that you miss out on your personal life and your time is consumed with work that probably doesn't fully satisfy your heart's desires.  God orders us to wait upon him, doing good,  trusting him, and he will give us the desires of our heart (Psalms 37:3-4). I've been in Psalms for the past few weeks and it's mostly about his love for us and vise versa.  If you don't mind waiting upon a God that makes no mistakes and has a record of 10 out of 10 as far as consistency, then you will not be disappointed when you stick to your needs, save money, and allow him to open doors so that you can get the things that you want, currently sacrificing for the things that you need.
