I Will Not

I will not use profanity
though I've sworn a time or two,
I will not use thoughts of perversion,
though I've told such kind of jokes.
I will not degrade God,
though at times I've questioned His ways,
I will not devalue women,
though I've lusted for their genetic structures.
I will not praise the art of money,
though at times I prayed for nothing but,
I will not feed gossip's belly,
though I've been hungry for a few secrets.
I will not down play my father,
though I've despised his presence,
I will not speak highly of sex,
though I've anticipated the experience.
I will not be this man you wish to see,
but the man hosting the God
that lives in me.

I am not perfect and neither are you, but as a man and a writer, I figured out what my purpose is: TO BE THE BEST MAN I CAN POSSIBLY BE.  Whether I'm doing manual labor or seated in some thick leather chair as some highly recommend CEO of a global corporation, my BEST is highly regarded. You really don't know what you're capable of until God has you backed in a corner with no where to go. It's either fight or flight and God is not the creator of your fear, Satan is. If you can, embrace your challenges and collect the badges of honor  once the internal/external wars are over. You will be stronger and much wiser.  I wrote this poem to establish my desire to never compromise my integrity. I pray God continues to bless me with his grace and mercy like he's always done for his children.
